Effectively they already do. the 1050 motor. I think you'll find the 1200 engine was 1185cc so a simple bore and stroke job could make a 1200ish motor fairly straightforward to do. Things is though the 1050 is pretty long in the tooth now. I suspect a replacement is on the cards for that motor.
I just heard the same. Sounds like it's going to be a sport touring bike along the lines of the Honda ST.

air cooled v3 with twin turbos , a cvt ,belt drive and carbon monoque frame,injected, with electronic abs, traction control and suspension
189 ps with148 nm and adjustable titanium bars and airbag, but thats all i could get out of him
