A PIE Tour of the Driftless Area in 2010

OK midwestern rats, Propforward and I have been busy researching small town MN/WI and found that there are an amazing number of excellent diners specializing in PIE. We would like to propose the occational informal rendezvoux or group ride this spring and/or summer to enjoy these pies and the many excellent backroads of the Driftless Area. (This is the area of MN, IA, IL, and mostly WI, where the glaciers never reached, which is why there is so much topographic relief and therefore excellent twisties)

How many of you would like to participate? and how would you like to be notified? What is your favorite PIE?

Of course we can just post the recommended 2010 PIE Tour locations and folks can go out and explore on their own. PIE is an excellent reason to ride- of course if it's WI, there's also beer and cheese and sometimes sausage, too.

I'm in. I guess I knew that.

If it's PIE I'm OK with it, though beer and cheese and occassionally a sausage are good too.

Depending on the time of the week and when I would be interested...I would need lead time to prepare for the trip...but if pie is involved I most definitely would be interested....My favorite.....PECAN!

Well, I live in Ohio, but I'd do just about anything to get a good slice of pie... and beer...

Apple raspberry...

I will have a sweet sausage and onion PIE with the crust that you can snap in half like a cracker!!! ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh MAN!!

Don't even mention peanut butter pie; I might have to strap some rafts on the wheels of my Bonnie and travel the pacific for that meet up

...first person to order a pineapple pie gets an old school a$$ whoopin'! A pizzeria tour of the hudson valley sounds like something I could definitely do and will take you up on that.

*with that said...sorry for the pizza hi-jack. I like the other kind of pie too
