Nashville / Mid TN
Anyone out there want to grab a beer and tell me why I should jump in and get a Scrambler?
Or better yet, anyone have one they can show off?
I'm about this close < > to selling my current steed.

I believe this question is being adequately answered here:
http://www.triumphrat.net/twins-talk...scrambler.html
Sell your current bike, and get a scrambler already.

Yep. Good info in that other thread. But so-far it doesn't look like anyone from the Nashville area is in there. Wouldn't mind checking one out in-person. Know what I mean?
(Check title.)

You would have done better making that clear in the other thread.
Maybe check out the RAT forum, see if there is a local group:

To a lot of us around here, if no one else in the area has one, that's a good enough reason on it's own to buy it.
Great bikes, by the way. I don't know when my next Triumph will come along, but there's a good chance that's what it will be.

Kramer,
I'm a couple hours away in Chattanooga. Mapquest shows two Franklins in the Nashville area, one just north and another just south. What is up with that? Which one are you? If you're the northern Franklin, you're right near the Nashville Speedway. Either way, there's bound to be a Triumph shop in Nashville.
I don't have a Scrambler but I have a Thruxton, which is more or less the same bike with different suspenders and the Scrambler has more maneuverability what with its off-road capabilities. What do I know? All I know is that if you're serious, there's a Scrambler to be had nearby. They look like perhaps one of the more fun bikes to have!

Thanks Sparky.
I'm in Chatt a lot. Not sure about the two TN Franklins, but there is one just N of Nashville in KY. I'm 15 mi S of Nashville.
I was in the shop yesterday (Castle) and took a look around. I was there a year ago and looked at a green Scrambler. I like that flat paint. Now they have a black 2010, along with the Bonneville, Bonnie SE, T100 and Thruxton (as well as the S3 Street3, Daytona, Sprint, Tiger and several other criuser-like machines).
Anyway, sitting on feels right.
I really like the Thruxton too. That bike just fits. I'll bet she's fun to ride.

You might check around there.

Kramer, I'll PM you about riding since you're in and out of Chatt.
Seeing as how you're coming off a Ducati, perhaps you might look into a Street Triple R. It has more power than the Twins, but you're still upright and comfortable. It'll do duty as well at the Nashville track (you can ride this track at night!). The 675 ROCKS! I LOVE that bike! Everybody needs one!
One caveat, though, is you'll turn all squid and be doing stoppies at each intersection.

What is this Nashville track you speak of? I know of a drag strip and one track, but it's circles only...
