Mid-life crisis?

I've never made a motorcycle decision based on emotion.

Buthere I am, with Speed Triple. Urban Warrior? Check. Yet all of my riding life was based on the bike being a tool. In the middle of the night I fire this girl up and tempt fate.

I never did this with a BMW.

Am I a late-blooming hooligan, or am I a sumbitch?

Sounds like you found a motorcycle that doesn't just move your body but also moves your soul.

Thank you. On the other hand, I don't need a 955i to remind me of what life means. But that motor is what drills the point.

Every day.

Every moment.

Even my accidental wheelies in 2nd gear give me pause...respect this Bike.

How do you know where the "mid" is in midlife? In your thirties you're not there yet. Relax and let the S3 love flow.

My guess is that you got tired of not nodding to, waving at or otherwise acknowledging other bikers while on that BMW. You just wanted to be more sociable and rather cool with it...

...either that or you're a middle aged guy who's just bought a big ignorant bike to compensate for some inadequacy (typed the man with the Rocket III).

Cool wheels. Don't analyse it, ride it.

...like you stole it! (Or until the slab-sided white delivery van with the big men come to get you...)

mmmm.. here's something they never told you in gradeschool - middle age can be fun. Real fun, if you know how and still can. And by age 40, I mos' definately knew how.... and often do!

Enjoy. You have it made.

You're just moving toward becoming an old guy, and that is the wright direction in which to be moving, not to worry. Even the ancient philosophers understood.

"Old age, believe me, is a good and pleasant thing. It is true you are gently shouldered off the stage, but then you are given such a comfortable front stall as spectator." - Confuciusn
