Just call me Luvvy, Dahling

So,

I got home from work yesterday, and checked my mailbox. In it was the usual bunch of notices from people wanting my money, but there was also a hand written short note accompanied by a business card.

Turns out a location scout had driven past my place, and decided it looked just right for a needed location in a small movie that commences filming early next year.

So I gave the scout a call, and tomorrow morning the movie director, producer and "a van full of movie folks" are coming to visit.

I'm sort of pleased about it. While it is exceedingly unlikely that they will choose my house as a filming location, and even if they do it's not like I'm going to be in the movie, I think it would be fun to at least be present while they do some filming, and see what's involved. I hope it happens just for that reason really.

So that's it, I'm in movies now, and an official luvvie.

Thankyou Daaaaaaaaahling!

I'll be up for an award - "best person not actually in a movie but who was near it when they made it"

I had a country music video filmed in my house once. It was the "dream" of the story line of the video. I was a pain in the a$$.
It was a no-name band, filming a Christmas song that the video was finished Dec 26th that no one saw.
A bunch of stange people in my house, rearranging my furniture going through every room.
Hope your luck is better than mine!
Mark

I hope my experience is better than yours!

This is a small budget movie (relatively), and stars Alan Arkin.

I was hoping for maybe, Jennifer Connelly, or perhaps Eva Green, and shall be making my opinion known to the casting department.

Prop, I work in the advertising business, so have been at many shoots, and have seen up close and personal what happens when a crew takes over a private house, restaurant, etc. Believe me, it will be like you don;t even live there. Huge lighting rigs will come in, electrical lines everywhere, main camera and viewing station for the director, wardrobe and makeup people all over the place, windows blacked out to kill unwanted light, etc. etc. etc. Make sure you understand this going in, and ask for a fair price for what will be a huge inconvenience.

Good info Orwell.

In truth I think nothing will come of it. In any case, we'll see what happens.

Maybe I should insist on a date with Eva Green, even if she has nothing to do with the movie.
