Ed's Service in Poughkeepsie is good - very old school, though. Rockwell Cycles is not bad, but pricey. I'm using Locomotion Powersports in Suffern right now and so far I have no complaints.

I have spent money at Ed's several times and they seem very knowledgeable. Friendly? Haha thats kind of funny. I would rather have a good grumpy mechanic than a bad friendly one. Ed's is good.

Rockewell is very friendly - I have been in there several times. They have a lot of work going on in the shop and it seems like its always the same guys wrenching so thats a good thing. I haven't had any work done by them, but I wouldn't hesitate. Haven't heard anything bad.

They are both pricey.
