Imobilers problem
Has anyone ever had their imobilers cut in whilst riding the bike, making it cut out? I've had a terrible day on My New Bonnie, I've posted the story in Twin chat.
Just wondered if it was a common occurrence with the Triumph alarm imobilers and what you did to cure it.
It could of been really nasty today but I was lucky.
Cheers

No. Not had this - just read your twins post. It could also be an engine management problem. Difficult to diagnose from online.
Defo get the Swindon people to pick it up and warn that an email is on its way if not already sent to Tue Matoni and the other guy I mentioned to you earlier last week.
However - given the grief over this bike - you might like to know that on yer triumph has a hardly used SE for a deal - proper UK spec etc etc - just in case you want to throw the bike back and demand another......not sure where you stand with trading standards/consumer rights - but the degree of bad publicity Triumph is already getting from your tales of woe should be enough to make someone wake up to the need to get it sorted pronto and you have to let them know directly.

I am planning on taking the lap top into work tomorrow and in between my busy periods I'm going to compose a letter of complaint.
If you'd like to help me compose it, then I can let you have my email address. I'm normaly very good at writing letters of complaint but I have to be angry to do it.
I'd love to get them to take the bike back, but as you know I need it for France.
Its interesting the mentioned the ECU as thats what was reset when he did the battery terminal thingy magig thing. Do you have any idea what sort of diagnostics they would run when they have the bike back?
I'd appreciate some help with a letter though if any of you feel like assisting.

Seems to me you are angry!
Much to my wife's irritation I have over the years secured various refunds, tickets, free days in a holiday chalet etc - but only because the service or product was crap.
The ECU in my bonnie failed and I was v fortunate it was just approaching lights so I cruised to a halt. A recovery truck two weeks and a silly little chip later - and it was fine. Within warranty and the dealer etc was fine. No need for a letter.
If you write, you have to I think tell them what you want up front - and then why.
If you want a new SE then so be it - but it would have to be a compelling reason.
I guess your letter will either make that point or not!
Good luck

I think at least a couple of free serivces for the bike is a pretty reasonable request. Maybe they will even throw in some luggage!!

If the immobilser is that much of an issue, have it removed. Do you really really need it or was it an impulse purchase? Don't you have a secure place to store it, some armored cable and lock and a disc lock? That all should be sufficient. If someone really want's your bike that immobiliser is not going to stop them, they will just throw the bike in the back and go.....
Because of your experience you have lost confidence in the system, don't blame Triumph, the system will work if installed correctly. You just don't trust it anymore, don't transfer that to the bike, it's okay, just get rid of the alarm system and go on about it.

And the saga continues! Agreed Koifarm. Why continue to mess about with something that doesn't work or is causing issues. Remove it, and be done with it. Send it back to the dealer and ask for a refund. Secure the bike in a safe place and be aware that no matter what you do, your not going to stop a wood be thief if he really wants it is all you can do. Relax, it's a bike and this is exactly what insurance is for.
Cheers

Car alarms, bike alarms/immobilizers...uugghh! Just my opinion, but you're putting too many gizmos on these bikes
Seriously, though, I'd be at the dealer pronto, either having it removed and refunded(at least some shop/store credit) or at least fixed with a groveling apology! I hope they are smart enought to see the PR here.
Good luck Rose!
