European Breakdown Cover

Had rubbish cover last year. This came as part of an insurance policy and resulted in decisions which we would not have made for ourselves.

Therefore interested to hear what solutions you have for this and how much you tend to pay

I am with Carole Nash who include European cover as standard - ie whether you like it or not. Annoying if:

1. The bike is new and has two years cover
2. YOu have no intention of going to Europe

For the Thrux and Vespa this year probably about £330 but I might shop around to get rid of the European bit.

I've always taken a simple extension to my existing AA breakdown cover. Can't recall cost though I think it was reasonable. I've never had to be recovered so am not able to comment on service standard.

As for the issue of insurance, most companies offer cover in Europe for up to 30 days as standard. Part of one Europe I guess.
