Watch out for the Deer.

Hi Guys
I was taking my son to camp this morning.(Not on the bike)
I saw this Motorcycle wreck. The bike a Honda Goldwing had hit a Deer, it was on the highway so i guess he was doing approx 60 to 65mph. The deer was lying in the road it was cut completly in half.
It was a sobering site. The guy was in the Ambulance hopefully he will be Ok.
I know this is disturbing but i thought i would pass it on to help us all, to stay alert all the time.
Cheers John.

I had a deer accident last September...I broke her neck but me and my Tiger went sliding down the center of the road...I am always on alert for them but they come out of nowhere sometimes...My gear saved me..ATGATT

What scares me: cars waiting to turn left, cars on the right waiting to pull out, and DEER! But, as wroding says, I am super alert for them.
Had a black bear bolt out in front of me up in Maine last summer - closest I ever came to hitting a critter without actually hitting it.

Deer are a problem, we have a few others beasts to deal with 6ft Emus, bloody great Kangaroos, Wombats are the size of a dog and 100% muscle, then we have bloody CAMELS all these lovely (sick) creature frequent our high ways.
Still we may be in the depths of winter (14°C) but we went out for a 3 hour ride yesterday and only saw 100 - 150 roos grazing

Phil,
Can you put "Roo Bars" on a bike? An online acquaintance from Oz hit a Wombat a couple years back. Said it was like hitting a marsupial anvil.
About the worst thing to hit in the US, short of a Moose or Grizzly, is a hog. They get loose, out in the rural areas, and head straight for the nearest road. They got a real low CG, and are MASSIVE. The bike stops in a nanosecond, you keep going.
The deer here in Joisey are pretty small, but kill a couple riders a year.

Lol, Man that would slow you down, 200kg (440lbs) of metal work hanging off the front of your bike. Would you be able to enter it in a custom show. Lol
The Bonnie would almost weigh the same as a Harley. Lol

Naturally. It's easier to get the blood/goo off.

When I lived in the Uk I hit a deer in my car, it went though my radiator and I needed a tow home. I put the dead deer in the boot (trunk) of my car and gutted the deer and put it in the freezer and ate it later. Got my own back, Lol
