So asides from buying new leather's, any fitness people know any good workouts to slim down my legs? My bottoms just don't fit right and only come up so far and make it a SOB to move around on my bike. Posted this question on a fitness forums only I seem to have upset people because I would rather trade in my muscle for less weight (= less weight on bike as well + more speed, which = FUN!). Don't really have the extra cash to drop on a new set of leathers since I am trying to lose weight overall but I have tree trunks for legs from being a gym rat since high school.

One word. RUN! Most people who run a lot like myself have thin legs. Your body will naturally shed bulky muscles and give you nice trim rock hard legs. Plus it will give you better endurance for long track days or lots of mountain twisties.

Don't run a mile or two and think you are good-to-go either. You need lots of mileage to stay healthy and trim your legs. Check out a magazine like runners world or the like. Follow a plan designed to train for a 10K or a half-marathon. Your body will transform much quicker than you think. Also when you do lift weights switch to lighter weight and higher reps.

Thanks, I am going to take your advice but I'll start training for a 5K and work my way up. Thanks for not scolding me because I said I want to shed muscle mass. I make a lot of gym rats really mad when I say that but in reality I have no reason to be built like a linebacker since I don't play football. Plus I'm in the military and due to my job I don't get to do much PT like everyone else so I think you hit the nail on the head. Bad thing is I hate running but once I get it through my mind that its for great benifit then I'll be happy. Thanks again.

Walking is great exercise and easier on your joints than running, as well as being an excellent stress reliever. Good luck!
