You'd think their frogmen would have found it. :

Nope, I'm too old for Kermie and Big Bird. We'd have to look back to Spike Milligan, George Carlin - when he had short hair and shaved - and then Monty Python. Oh, and you can throw in: Benny Hill, Peter Allen, The Smothers Brothers, Flip Wilson, Cheech and Chong, and Paul Hogan before he made movies for good measure.

Nothing wrong with that Cat.. nothing that the French Navy and a few limpit mines wouldn't help anyway.

A remarkable find after all these years.
Wrt the French Navy, it is this story that disturbs me as a British person- the Royal Navy attacking the French Navy without mercy during WW2, when they were allied forces :

France had already surrendered to the Germans and Britain did not want those ships falling into German hands. The French refused to surrender them to the British, leaving the Brits little choice.

Based upon my understanding of French adroitness in battle, a French battleship is egually dangerous whether upon or below the sea.

The French naval force that the Royal Navy attacked was "Vichy French" (Nazi collaborators), NOT allied with Britain, the US, or the USSR. The Wikipedia article fails to make this distinction. Admiral Darlan, BTW, was assassinated not long after this incident!
