Interesting Carb problem

I had a problem with my 2006 T100 done 15,000km, taking forever to warm up, coughing back through the carb, exessive blueing on pipes, so I changed the pilot jet to 42 and main to 120, and also added a spacer to raise the needle.
The result was better, but still not perfect, then I noticed brown staining on the head, just below the plastic manifold spacer.
I removed the spacer and discovered the bike had been built with no o-rings on the manifold. A few $ later, 4 new viton 3x48 orings, problem sorted.
I ended up removing the needle spacer, now runs perfectly, finally...

Well, it did run correctly after putting in the O-rings. When I got my '03 in 2012, it ran crappy. To avoid chasing my own tail, I replaced the O-rings, vacuum port caps, and carb to manifold rubbers. Saved a lot of time. The carb to manifold rubbers have a slight difference in diameter. If one side is snug but the other is loose and sloppy, turn them around. I took out the idle richness screws once to shoot a little carb cleaner into the orifices. I got side tracked and came out later and cranked it up. Holy cow what a racket of popping. Then I saw the screws lying on the bench. Stuck 'em in and the problem resolve itself. These things will fire up with some pretty large leaks and such, they just won't run correctly.

Runs better than ever now, see below for correct size o-ring, earlier engines before engine number 172358 use the smaller 49x2mm o-ring
