Dealer wants to perform valve adjustment. Bonneville has 25k miles it 2010 model. Has random ticking noise. Would it solve ticking issue?

+1, but seems odd that it would be intermittent. Valve noise in the case of needing adjustment is usually constant. What type of oil are you using?

I read the posts and looked at my shop manual to try to understand the situation and now I feel prepared to handle it if I should see it with my Bonneville one day so thanks to all, including the OP for the discussion. It seems possible that some "C" springs were used that had inadequate heat treatment and hopefully Triumph is aware of this and has taken steps to make sure that it does not happen again.

It may be possible to clamp the "C" spring in a vise to reshape it (overlapping the ends as needed) to return the tension required. On the other hand, 15 dollars is not a lot to pay for a new spring and one would anticipate receiving a better quality replacement.

Agree. It seems from the original post, the owner tried two replacement springs before settling on one that gave the most pre-loading. so perhaps these springs are just inconsistent as far as loading they provide...need to try a couple to find the strongest. At the Calmoto site, these c-springs for got about $5, so no biggie.
Note the original post also mentions an o-ring that was not sealing well on the oil pipe to the cams....also replaced. might be a factor for the noise as well.
