For 10 years I've use Motorex Protect and Shine 645 for everything on my 2006 Bonneville Black except seats, glass, and exhaust. I've found it to be a great product and my black engine still looks brand new. The problem: Motorex has discontinued this product. Does anyone know of a product that works as well for both metal and plastics? Thank you in advance.
I use FS365 from Scottoiler. Easy to use, just spray it on and walk away. It smokes a bit at startup but it leaves a nice oily protective layer. I love the way it makes the "black" engine case shine!!!
This stuff, while not cheap, I find fabulous for bikes and cars, including chrome. I also use it as a guitar polish. It's the best that I've found for that.
Just a quick update. I've tried the ones listed and really like Scottoiler FS365. I think it works as well or better than the Motorex Protect and Shine 645 I was using before. Thanks for all the advice. And yes smudge1016, it does make the black engine shine!
Updating a very old thread. I'm still using the Motorex Protect and Shine 645 and prefer it on on my engine cases. They still look like new 13 years later! The 303 UV Protectant is outstanding on rubber, plastics, abs, and such surfaces. As a quick clean up on metal surfaces I use Aero Cosmetics Wash Wax All. I need to take out the Scottoiler FS365, I'd forgot about it and apparently I liked it. I'm fight a bit of corrosion, due to our humid coastal weather. Therefore, I'm experimenting with some anti-rust treatments.
The FS365 is great on my chrome laden bike and works great on my black painted Daytona engine.
