Exhaust Comparisons/Clips

But here is a compare and list of exhaust (info/reviews/videos) posts that people can try to add onto for further reference.

Lets start with the great,
Now you really can compare one to another without wondering about recording conditions. Enjoy! Compliments of the "Lab Rats" lunch ride last Thursday. (sorry about me yammering through the whole thing!)

P.S. It's a 6mb file, so you may have to wait for it to load.

This is great ! I've seen some of these clips before, but as with Bonnielass collection, its nice to see them all at once. this collection is great because I can play them individually over and over to see what I like ( and at the same time annoy the crap out of my co-workers).
One question..who made the dunstall replicas? Specialty Spares?...they seem to have a nice set, but from the website, theirs looks more parallel to the ground. Now I just need to decide between them and the NH Togas.
Thanks again for the effort

Jerry, the Dunstalls are made by EMGO and can be found at many online sites like DennisKirk or JC WHitney. The Specialty Spares dunstalls are EMGO too (to the best of my knowledge) but are attached to their headers which have no kink in them. So they art lower and straight back. If you are trying to decide between them and the Togas, I would recommend the Togas. Have heard nothing but GREAT things about them, and quality would be better the EMGOs (which are not bad in any sense). Plus they have removable baffles, so if need be you can make the really speak. But just my opinion, and from the two compared I think you will first decide what style you want more.

Sweat, thanks man,

Thanks for the info. I feared Specialty Spares were the same as EMGO....How can SS justify their price, $550 compared to JC Whitney @ $120/pr. I know SS comes with the headers, but even so...
I think for the price, I'll go with the NH's......thanks again for the clips, I'm sure many more of us will enjoy it.

Does anyone know how to download/convert the 5 bike comparison video to a different format other than Flash?
I'd love to put it on my iPod or BB, but can't figure out how to do it with Flash.

Same thing with the YouTube videos, they're nice to see online but it would be even nicer if I could figure out how to save them permanently.

Any help?

I have Togas on my Bonnie and yesterday I brought my bike in for the 6000 mile service and was able to get a loner bike for the day while they serviced mine. Well it was a 07 black bonnie and it had TOR's on it. There is no comparison, in that the Togas have a better sound, and I believe I made the right choice. I wear ear plugs all the time and I was barely able to hear the TOR'S, and with no tac it was like I was riding my stock Bonnie again. With the Togas I can hear them with ear plugs but keep out the wind noise. By the way my Togas have the rear baffles removed.

Wow, some great threads, nice to compare the options, like the sound of the preds, of course my favs are the Mototwin reverse cones [peashooters as they are advertised as?, which they are not] they sound like preds [nice deep bass] but a little quieter, and mine are stainless steel which will not rot through in 2 years.

My set of Burgess/Brituro replicas

I get a lot of compliments on these. They are similar to NH togas but different enough. They are different to NH's in that they are stainless steel construction, they don't taper as much towards the tailpipe, the tailpipe is a bit shorter, no baffle holes in the tailpipe, they also sound a bit deeper and a bit more "growlier".
after reading the loudness scale thread, i would rate these around an 8.0-8.5 as they are a bit louder then Hydes.

Short story: They're not EMGO's. They are imported/made to spec/custom by this guy in LA. He sells them on E-bay occasionally. I paid about $225 for mine. I've had people tell me they are Brituro replicas or Burgess style mufflers. So that's what I've called them.

Long story: When I got my 04, back in 04, i had my dealer order a set of new pipes - NH togas to be exact. They called their supplier, I think JRC engineering in LA, for a set of pipes. Well what came weren't chrome togas but these stainless steel pipes and they were about half the price of togas. they looked nice and the price was nice, so i took them anyway. Put them on and WOW! big difference over stock :p

Last year, my 04 was stolen :( . I got a new 06 and wanted the same pipes. Asked dealer to order another set. Well the story is that JRC was sold out and wasn't sure when they'ld get more. Then it turned out they weren't going to get any more. Not wanting EMGO's (not impressed with construction-don't like the seem at the tailpipe or sound-too tinny) or Togas (too expensive and not deep/loud/throaty enough), i decided to do my own research.

JRC first said they had them made to spec and wasn't going to be making anymore. Then I found a pair on Ebay. I emailed the seller and he claimed to have had them made and was distributing thru JRC and a few other places, but decided to sell more vintage triumph stuff. Occasionally getting these. Well I made sure I got the set on Ebay. Since then I've only seen them one other time from the same seller. The ebay seller ID is: pbprotriu

So that's what I know about these.
