Cornering Clearance Q

Ahh, classics... But seriously!

My question is this:
I'm aiming to put Thrux headers on my Bonnie, then fit NH Togas (for the Thrux) so I can have the classic look without a kink in the pipe. I've seen this done before (I forget who it was...) and I think it looks GREAT! But I thought the kink was there to bring the silencers higher off the ground for better clearance in corners? Will the "straight back" look mean sacrificing clearance? I already have NH rearsets, and I enjoy the cornering too much to give it up now!

If anyone can shed some light on my quandary, I'd be ever so grateful. Thanks!

Are the thrux Togas upswept? I think the kink is to keep the stock peashooters from dragging. I don't think you need to worry about the headers, just the mufflers. Seems to me most aftermarket cans have a lower profile than the stockers. Can't say for sure though.

pabonne, I'm not too worried about the headers, as you say, but rather the silencers... NH Togas for the Thrux are not very upswept, but they couldn't be too close to the ground, right?

Eh, I might as well go for it! Just as soon as I get my next paycheck... :-D
