Has anyone try to mount LED head lamp on their Triumph?

I bought one of those (JW Speaker 7500?) for my Thruxton last year. It will fit with some modification to the brass locating ring inside the bucket. I did some trimming with the dremel tool and got it close. After about a day of riding with it, the low beam died and wouldn't come back on. I knew it wasn't an issue with my bike because the stock lamp was fine. I had waited a long time to get the unit in the first place because of a long backorder list...I didn't feel like waiting forever for the replacement so I returned it for my money back. FWIW, it looked awesome and was very bright when it worked, but I was happy to get $380 back in my pocket.

That is the best led light pattern I have seen as most are very strange light patterns and poor low beam cut off due to the led positions on the globes to reflector out put of light.

I use a hid projector and it also has an excellent light beam pattern and is very bright yet does not dazzle oncoming traffic.

It seems some riders are focused on bright light for other road users to see. Where I am after night vision as I live in semi rural area with deer and Kangaroos having a habit of being or running from the edge of the roads at the wrong times.

Well done on your led light!

Wow!!! Really impressed with the LED setup. I have the Daniel Stern lighting setup and relatively happy with it. However with how much I spent I would have much preferred to buy an LED setup for near the same cost.

The stock headlight was just not ok for me.

I've put a truck-lute 7 inch LED head lamp on the bike. This is a 7 LED sort of sealed beam unit that is designed to be install in motor freight trucks etc. It has a low beam led an a custom design reflector and lens. There is a separate LED for the high beam and a separate reflector and lens...one is the top half of the light and the other the lower.
High beam uses both...pull 20w when both on...hi beam..

Much better that the stock light output. but not cheap.

Of course I had to get a 7' headlight bucket. but the stock triumph plug plugs right on to the LED. DOT approved too.

... Has anyone tried this? I wonder if that accessory they sell can be used to bring the trucklite in more?

Those look like JWSpeaker lights - http://www.jwspeaker.com/products/categories/headlights/

Harley re-brands several models of these as 'Daymakers' and it appears eaglelites are rebranding also.

JWSpeaker leads the field in their technology development and their light modules are simply the best you can buy in terms of both quality and light output.

JWSpeaker just released a new 'Adaptive' light which throws light into the corner when you are turning - very interesting (but not cheap!!)

I believe the new 8700 series (whether you get adaptive or standard) do not need an adapter ring to mount and on spec should be a 'better' fit
(but please note have no actual personal knowledge of this with respect to a Bonnie shell)

I installed one of these last year with stock reflector without any modification necessary and it works great. Much brighter and fairly good beam pattern with stock reflector. The heat sink cable is great with the crowded mess of wires in the twin's headlight bucket. They shipped fast and reliably and the product was well packaged, highly recommended.

I tried a "heat sink mesh" LED bulb and it didn't fit under the gasket so I sent it back…I assume the gasket (using the better than stock one that came with a Hella H4 lens) is necessary although maybe not so much, but my current Cree 2400 lumen LED fits perfectly. The 2400 is a little larger than the previous Cree (1800 lumen) I was using but the fan is quieter…you can barely hear it but it's there. I still wonder if there's a limit to the lumen output of bike headlights like there is for cars…1000 lumens for cars?
