Installed HID kit on the Scrambler.

Replaced the stock bulb set up with an 8000k HID kit from DDM Tuning, Did it to my other bike and the difference is amazing from stock and crappy Auto Parts store bulbs.

1st since I hit my 1st 1000 miles on the bike (in 2 weeks time) I decided to wash it

Tore off the tank to run the wire through there cleanly, and the Ballast fits nicely inside the headlamp housing. Best $43 I have spent.

I happened on this older thread a couple days ago and immediately ordered 5000K kit for my Scrambler. I had a dark ride on Hwy from Lodi to Fairfield, CA a few weeks ago and it is Dee double DARK out there, really emphasizing I needed to get some more candles burning.

So dang near 2 1/2 years later I say THANKS!

It really is one of the best mods I have done, last week my brother came to town and we rode up to San Fran he on the Triumph and I could always find him in my mirrors no matter how far he was behind me due to brightness and the blue tint my 8000 bulb has. Had a small problem with my set up and DDM took care of replacing the parts ASAP

I was going to do this last month, however it was suggested not a good idea. Due to the type of light etc, the throw could be all over the place. Can you snap a photo the other way showing the beam?

Checking this out also, as the standard lighting on this bike leaves alot to be desired.
A couple of questions
Which bulb is compatible?
Do I need the mounting brackets as well?

It's an H4 bulb. I have the mounting bracket coming with mine, right now I have no idea if I'll use it.

The wiring harness comes doubled up, comes with a long lead and a short, you just cut the short one off, I ran the wire to the battery along the frame secured with zip ties with tank removed and everything else fit in the bucket, takes a little maneuvering but works fine. The ballast will plug directly into your existing light bulb socket and your new HID bulb plugs into your new wiring harness with 3 wires.
