Saddle bag supports

As soon as I got my bike I ordered some saddle bag supports - I wanted some low profiles ones as I only plan on using saddle bags on the weekends. I opted for these:

Almost 4 weekends later they have arrived in the bush.

When opening the box I was expecting a couple of nuts and washers... that be too easy, and there was nothing in the box.

I decided to take a quick look at the mounting points - see pics:

Basically, How would y'all recommend I mount them? Also what size is the rear mounting hole?

I was thinking pop out the rear shock spring, place the mount between the exiting washer, then another washer between the mount and the bolt - I won't put it behind the spring. On the rear just a bolt and a washer?

I'm sorry for the constant flow of dumb ass questions but I left all my tools and spares behind and have considerably less resources than I'm used to...

It looks like the front uses the existing top shocker bolt, the bracket on the outside and the washer on top. There's no need to remove the shocker.
The rear bracket uses the existing outer frame/mudguard bolts.
