Posted my order for the Acewell 4453 unit today! So excited, but now I just have to wait for it to arrive from Germany...
Will post pics once I start to get it installed.
Does anyone have a source to buy replacement plug so that I can wire it to plug right into the bikes wiring harness?
Also looking for a plug for the tail light/rear indicators for a similar switch with the ability to maintain the plug and plan option.
I cold-bent the bracket by unbolting it after I had removed the wiring, then put it into a vice with some padding. I then used a two pound sledgehammer and tapped it lightly time and again to bend the bracket, checking frequently to make sure I had the angle I wanted and wasn't creating stress fractures or anything.
Still working on it. It has been slow going, tough finding time to work on the bike these days. I hope to make some progress tomorrow morning on my day off (forget the parades and football).
I've got it wired and working, need to finish the mounting bracket. I took it out for a test ride last week and had a hard time seeing the LCD. The screen is fairly directional and my head is up too high to see the numbers, need to bend the mounting bracket so that the gauge is tilted up more. Casida did this to his so I know its possible, but it looks like 3/16" thick metal.
I love the look of the gauge and actually seeing the headlight bucket while riding. It really is a slim and cleaned up look. Now the stock gauges look huge in comparison.
Will post some pictures and detailed description once I get it all buttoned up. Here is a link to another thread that has some pictures and my progress so far.
