I know the headlight on the Bonneville T100 isn't the greatest in the world. But I think mine is slightly worse than normal. I put the long haul screen on and I think that I have not aligned the headlight properly.

I seem to remember that you could properly line up a headlamp beam by making a mark a certain distance up a wall then have the bike on level ground so it was facing the wall from a certain distance and then adjust the light till the top of the beam just touched the line on the wall. In this day and age there is probably another method.

Anyone have any advice on this

With the bike on its wheels and you astride, have a helper measure the distance from the floor to the center of the headlight lens.

Pick a flat wall where you can locate the bike so the headlight is 17 feet from the wall. Place a horizontal mark on the wall two inches lower than the height of the center of the headlight.

The headlight beam (on low beam) should be relatively flat on the top, and may rise rather sharply at the right edge. Adjust the headlight vertically so that the flat top of the beam is just up to that line (marked two inches down at 17 feet).

Horizontal adjustment should center the beam ahead of the line of the bike.

Page 97 of the owners handbook has instructions as well, but the above is very simple.

heh, heh I use the 25ft rule also. But its a generic rule. Perhaps this is a Bonneville thing. I'll check it at 17ft in the Spring, and see if there is much difference.

Sonofabitch. 4 months to ride. Fk.
