Someone on here said that if people couldn't handle 10 seconds of noise that they need to find something else to bitch about; well if that 10 seconds is all it takes to wake someone, isn't that a legitimate complaint? It wouldn't hurt some of you to consider that if everyone was as thoughtless, you'd have entire "communities" of people who each contribute their own 10 seconds of noise at all different times of day and night and no one would have any peace.
Noise pollution is one of the things that has people thinking badly of bikers and if your response is to tell them all to pound sand, then you're exactly the person they think you are, and deserve their disdain and lack of concern for your well-being (and you'd better believe that when those neighbours get in their cages they'll view you and every other biker out there as the enemy). You have to be respectful of others to earn respect in return.
If you want to be anti-social, then do so by moving away from society. Otherwise, grow up and accept that there's a social contract in play and show some of the respect you expect in return. To the OP who is changing his pipes, I applaud your efforts to try to accommodate your neighbours. It's not always fun to have to think of others, but it is the right thing to do.
You need to read all of my post. At idle and low throttle, my pipes are NOT loud. I can idle into my attached garage and my family in the house doesn't hear me. That person is bitching for the sake of something to do. It seems everyone is turning into a bunch of whiners. There comes a time to grow a pair and stand up for yourself instead of just rolling over for every person who finds something to bitch about.
