I Installed the Go Cruise Throttle control for my 09 Bonnie SE. I took a long trip the other day 260 miles and let me say this cruise control is so easy to use, and it really works. A bargin @ $19.95 plus shipping.
This is a New Bonniville product http://www.newbonneville.com/html/go_cruise_throttle_control.html
I like it. I might have to try one. I saw a youtube video the other day when researching "cruise controls". A guy made a homemade form of this one by twisting a stiff wire around the grip.
If you go to the link there is a video of this- I was not 100% shure, Once I tried it such an easy concept. I dont like the crap buster I had one of those things not for me. They make this for 7/8" handle bars and 1"
I know, it looks like an old "hernia truss" for a motorcycle but I have some bone on bone disc's in my upper neck that operating a motorcycle throttle for extended periods really sets off. Getting really old sucks, but it sure beats the alternative.......
The techno soundtrack in that demo video is an interesting musical choice.
That said, looks like a pretty nice farkle. I was thinking about running Grip Puppies over the top of my OEM grips, since it made a really nice improvement on my Thruxton. Anyone happened to try this combo?
For those that are wondering, "What the heck is a Grip Puppy?!?!", here you go.
Funny.... I followed the link and still know nothing about them. It appears the website doesn't really tell you anything more then that they slip over your existing grips. What purpose do they serve?
Have just read in another forum that people used to make their own using a chromed wheel spoke. This is the gist of it:
Re: Go Cruise Throttle Control
That type of cruise control is simular to what guys had made years ago, using the front brake lever as a set post or stop. The design was to take a spoke from a motorcycle wheel, maybe 3/16" in diameter (chromed of course). They would carefully bend a radius or circle on one end to fit over the throttle handle. Then they would place over the throttle and bend into a snug fit on the throttle. leaving the longer end to go underneath the front brake handle. Then just place the extended part/spoke against the brake handle, when at the speed they wanted. Twist the throttle back for to release it...kinda kewl.
I must second glassbydesign's opinion. I received mine in the mail today from Fast Eddy. I ordered a 1 inch model because I have "Booby Grips" on the Scrambler. It works great on both bikes, even the Rocket with ISO grips.
I was impressed with the simplicity and how well it works. Of course it doesn't take much for me. My lunch box thermos amazes me everyday. Keeps it hot or cold, how does it know???????????
I've just ordered one! I hope it works well, as my brand new titanium shoulder joint dislikes staying in the same position for very long. I had a Kaoko throttle lock on my 1050 Tiger, and I liked it immensely, but they don't do one for my Griso, so here's hoping this gizmo does the trick!
Recently fitted two KAOKO units to our T100's wev'e done about 500miles with them, and I can only say they work brilliantly, the only problem is they are a bit costly, I couldn't find anything similar that would fit 1" bars.
I ordered them straight from the manufacturer in South Africa and even with postage they worked out cheaper than getting them from anywhere else.
