So I had a great weekend at a motorcycle rally this past weekend. I put over 1000km on my T120, and boy is my butt getting sore. So the reason I am posting this in the Air Cooled forum and not the Water Cooled forum is that I have a question regarding the DS003 Classic Triumph Seat from Brit Bike Parts. They are getting close to being able to offer this for the water Cooled Bonnevilles and I wanted to know if it is indeed a comfortable seat. I had the stock one on my 06 T100, never really put the continuous KM's I am putting on the new one, not because one is more enjoyable than the other, rather, its a different time in life and I have more time. They offer a comfort seat for the 120, but, love the look of the classic seat and would love to add one to my new ride. So if you have or had one what are your thoughts on it?
I just circled Lake Superior. This guy www.greatdaytoride.com/contact.html did my seat and then I finished it off with pads from Alaskan Leather. Not even mild discomfort after 17 hours in the saddle. Much discomfort from a headlight failure in the pouring rain in pitch black that derailed my Iron Butt ride, but the seat was flawlessly comfortable. You may not need a different seat. For $135.00 or so, this guy makes your factory seat everything you are looking for a 1000 mile day.
Thanks, I appreciate the response, but, sending my seat away during prime riding season is not really an option. Would rather buy a second seat and I have always loved the look of the T100's fitted with the Classic Triumph Seat from Brit Bike Parts. Stands to reason that it should look as good with the T120.
I have one of those on my 2013 Bonneville and it is *much* better than stock. However, I still find that for a long day in the saddle, I need to supplement it with my Airhawk cushion. Your mileage may vary.
One other note, the hook at the front (which mates with the tank) is plastic and mine has worn away with repeated removals for bike maintenance. So, be careful with it.

I've learned over the years that a comfortable saddle is very subjective. I think some of these iron butt guys could ride a 2X4 a thousand miles and not complain. Me, no way.
I've also learned, unless you have something custom made for you (no mail order), you are just taking your chances with comfort.
This is exactly why I've settled on the Air Hawk air pad system. For years I've used it on several different bikes. Cruisers, sport, sport touring etc. I don't like the looks of the pad when I'm not on the bike but that fades quickly after I through a leg over.
Quickly removable and easly installed on other bikes.
I'm down to just one bike (Scrambler) so I use the Air Hawk for longer rides of a couple hours or more.
Spencer's turn around time had my seat off the bike for one week. Worth every dime. Also- Alaskan Leather is worth every dime and functions as advertised.
