I've owned my first bike, a 2012 Bonneville, for about half a year now. At first it felt like almost too much bike and I was very cautious. Eventually it became comfortable and I grew more confident. Now, I find myself wanting a bit more. I feel very nimble and agile in the city but once I get on the freeway my acceleration is about even with a medium sized sedan, and I find myself maxing out the throttle when I want to get around a slower car. Not to mention, I'm already in top gear at 50mph. I recently took a day trip to find some nice twisties and that solidified my desire for a faster bike.
I know it hasn't been very long and I'm in no rush to upgrade but I'm already starting to think about my next bike. At the top of my list is a liquid cooled Thruxton, but I'm also strongly considering a Speed Triple, and I just learned about the Yamaha XSR900 which seems like a lot of bike for not much money. I like cafe styled bikes and split my riding between city and highway about 70/30, I commute to work so I ride every day, usually put on 5-10 miles only though. I can only park at my work with a motorcycle and it's my only mode of transportation so I'm willing to save up and spend a little more for my next bike.
I'm wondering what other people have upgraded to or are considering, and why.
