One month in, minor changes taking place, and hopefully I'm not making a mess of the situation.
First month has been a blast. Finally understand the premise of counter-steering. Got caught in a rain storm, which became a hail storm. That hurt. Realized that my backpack isnt water proof (Nice knowing ya, IPad!). Soaked my clothes, but powered through.
Put 1200 miles on her and have become comfy which the clutch. Once in a while if I mentally drift, I shift down instead of up. That's never fun. Will stop mentally drifting.
Riding over 50 mph without a screen gets tough as I blow around a bit, but I'm not sure I want a big screen.
People all around town admire the bike, I often feel like a fraud for having such a nice machine.
Some updates.
1. Dropped the tach, went speedo solo.
2. Adding BC Sleeper Pro's on Saturday, so excited for those.
3. Replaced missing bar ends.
4. Today, removed badges. I really like it better without the chrome all over the tank, but not too pumped on the screws still on. Doubt there's a way around that.
5. Lost the chunky turn signals and tail light.
6. Dropped king and queen, popped on motone seat. It's definitely not as comfy. Wondering if a brown seat would look out of place. Probably.
7. Painting a bobbed front fender black, I think It will look good w/ the rest of the lower half of the bike.
Some questions.
1. How does the shorty front fender attach to the fork? I'm ignorant and thought it would be fitted using the hardware from the original fender. Can anyone point me to a bracket or hardware to make this work?
2. Is wrapping pipes a bad idea? I've read very mixed reports. I think I'll dig the chrome pipes, just curious to the forums consensus on wrapping.
3. What other changes do you recommend? I think with new pipes, I'm going to be pretty stoked, but are there any things that you would do?
Loving every minute.
