I test rode this 2012 Bonnie at Hamlin Cycles in CT yesterday. Previous owner had yellow accents painted over the white areas. I'm in love! Gotta sell the Aprilia, now... it'll probably be gone by then, so I can't wait to get into the classifieds pages here!
Don't really like all that flag stuff either. If you love your country then do something about it. All that flag waving means nothing. As Sam Johnson said patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel.
I'm thinking of keeping with the classic Triumph swoop, but maybe doing it in pinstripe instead of solid. Or, just playing with the color. I've got the popular red on black color scheme, which I like but I see it everywhere... Here are some images I grabbed off google...
That blue one with the break in the "swoop" is my favorite. When I get tired of the black I will be painting my bonnie a dark red with that paint paint scheme
I just picked up a Tornado red tank cover and fly screen. My fenders and side covers are black as well as the original tank.
I'll post up a picture when I get it all set up, still waiting for a couple parts to lower the blinkers and a few other odd and ends.
Also found some nice checkered tape to stripe the top of that tank cover down the middle with a racing checkered stripe since the fly screen already sports a checkered stripe down the middle.
I was ready for a change with the bike. Found this to be the cheaper way to go rather then a custom paint job. You can find the parts on E bay cheaper then paint.
I like plain colours, did this one a while ago and used it for a while.
Been sitting on the shelf as I went back to the stock tank.
Have a Saphire Blue and white tank as well and the bike looks good with all of them, easy to change the look if I've been behaving badly,What me officer?
I am in desperate desire for a change to mine. I think the tank and wheels both being two-tone is a bit much. I would like to go with black powder coat on the wheels but I am not sure of what to do with the tank. Probably some metallic blue
When I get ready to paint a bike I print out some templates. Then I use some color pencils to help me figure out what color and if I want stripes or some other layout. View attachment 372946
I did this a few years ago, seems to be holding up ok.
