I just got these boots to use with my new street twin. Let's embrace the cafe racer style, **** i even grew a beard lol. Here are mine i got them at clarks.
Real Motorcycle boots will protect your feet and lower leg in a crash. The really good ones will also keep your feet warm and dry even after riding for eight hours in driving rain.
The only boots I wear when riding are SIDI OnRoads.
The boots in the posts above, while very in vogue at the moment, look a lot like the inexpensive, light duty, crepe soled work boots I tried to use back in the seventies when I was a broke kid starting in Construction. They fell apart rather quickly and my feet were constantly wet in the winter. Finally, as suggested by my Boss, I spent the big money for some steel toed Grebe Kodiaks with thinsulate , a bonded on sole and waterproof membrane, like the SIDI On roads I now use for riding.
What a difference to have warm dry feet for the entire work day. Grebe went out of business a decade ago but now they are back with a number of products including the original Kodiaks.
If I had to wear work boots instead of Motorcycle boots when riding, I would choose something steel toed and waterproof like the Grebe.
Back in the mists of time I remember hearing of steel toe caps having the potential to cause as much , if not more , damage than they could protect you from . Picture your foot hitting a solid object and the steel reinforcement acting as a guillotine .
Even though I'm a yank, I agree. My Altberg's Hoggs are the best boot I've ever had. However I'd prefer a brown boot for 'classic' riding. Any suggestions from the Altberg line?
my two outfits. brown boots w/brown cafe racer jacket (armor in shoulders, back, elbows)
black Cortech riding boots (armor in heel, ankles, toes) and black Triumph Steve McQueen jacket (armor in shoulders, back, elbows)
I also like to wear bohn armor underpants under my jeans. very comfortable and it doesn't get hot in the summer. (provides hip, tailbone, knee, shin protection)
fully protected and looking cool at the same time!
I've got my finger on the trigger to order up these stylish leather kicks. I want more than some shoes that only go up above the ankle. I had a pair of Triumph Highway II boots - which were awesome - but I felt like a "Stormtrooper" when I went out on the town. What's a "Fashionista" like me to do? Price isn't an issue.
I like those. saw them and almost pulled the trigger. I think they're one of the coolest looking MC boots around. I already have two other pairs of leather MC boots for my t-bird so i couldn't justify the purchase. If I were you I would get them.
speaking of the Triumph boots, I've been tracking them down for some time. Heard they discontinued but are about to release a new version this Spring. I will wait for them and figure out a way to sneak them into the house. (wife knows my inventory pretty well.)
Someone finally posted a picture of some real boots. I thought I was on a shoe art thread. I currently have SIDIs but they are more touring than adventure rider.
Those cowboy boots are every bit as good as the biker harness style boots As for those logging boots shown , Ive worked in the woods , and come from an area where logging was the main industry but can't say Ive ever seen many loggers wearing them Maybe they're more of a localized thing ?
Mine are too boring to bother taking a picture, but they are real motorcycle boots. A pair of BMW low boots, ventilated.
