Seat Swap

Hey all! Been lurking here for a while, but about 3 months ago I bought a 2012 Bonnie in Aurum Gold. Love the bike, but I really want to get my hands on a Thruxton gel seat. Any body know of any one that does a seat swap or know of options??? Really don't need another seat sitting around and I don't know if I can justify dropping $250 on a seat when performance mods are begging for my $$$!!! Thanks for the help.

You may see a Thrux gel seat show up in the classifieds here or on ebay, but they are rare. They are rare for a reason: they are MUCH better than what you currently have. I'd advise biting the bullet and getting one, even if you have to pay retail. All the mods in the world won't be worth their weight if you can't stand to ride the bike.

Noboby is going to give you much for the stocker seat. it's uncomfortable. I switched to the Sixty 8 contemporary seat, and it's tons better.

You can find them for $250 or so.

Thanks for the replies. I don't necessarily have an issue with the comfort of the seat, more the look of the seat. A single seat suits me just fine.

To keep the look of your stock seat and make it 1000% better. Send it to Spencer's Seat. www.Greatdaytoride.com. Have him due the LD upgrade. I did that with my seat last year, cost around $130 with shipping both ways and only 9-11 days. I now forget I'm sitting on a seat.

Ride safe,

Quentin

As well as my standard Thruxton seat with hump I have a Scrambler 'ironing board' gel seat for 2 up riding, I think the look with the white piping suits the Thruxton style really well and wife much prefers it to the sloping back style of the Thruxton seat, not really noticed much difference in comfort.

i was lucky to get a DS 003 from e-bay made by british bike bits, looks great and a better ride, i later added bitubo shocks which made a big difference, at 170 lb stockers were way to stiff
