Bonneville XC

I have been looking at the Tiger XC, and during a test ride I thought to my self, this would be great with a Bonnie motor.
In a chat with the dealer later, he agreed that the factory could have gone further with the Scrambler as far as suspention.
So what do you think? I havn't been able to go for a ride on a Scrambler, there don't seem to be many test bike's. But they don't seem to be much differant to the standard bonnie.

Scramblers carry the 270 engine as opposed to the 360 engines in the Bonneville. What it amounts to is the Scrambler generates torque primarily rather than horsepower; very handy in off-road riding. With some suspension modding, Scramblers will run very well on dirt, gravel, etc., as well as the street.

Would it run with the Tiger XC? In a word, no. The water-cooled triple will pretty much always outperform an air/oil-cooled twin. The beauty of the Tigers are that they're sort of the swiss army knife of motorcycles: off-road, canyon carving, long range touring, etc., the Tiger can do it all fairly well. You can make a Bonne/Thrux/Scram into just about anything, but if you really want an "everything" Triumph, go on and buy a Tiger. Again, just my opinion.

So You don't think there might be a place for an XC with a Bonneville motor? The start of your post sounded like you got what I meant, "torquey motor, handy in off road riding."
I dont particularly like the 800 triple, too touchy, especialy on a dirt orientated bike. Probley good for the standard Tiger 800, or a sports road bike. In my opinion.
Don't know where you read the question, would it keep up with a water cooled triple.
I ride my Bonnie on dirt roads, mostly what we've got here. that and crap tar. Needs some longer travel running gear though. that's why I was looking at the Tiger XC. The Bonnie motor is great an if you need more power than it give's out then you got bigger balls than me.
All in all it's just hyperthetical, just a subject to throw around, doubt if any one at Triumph will be reading it and run away and build one.
