Actually we didn't worry much about this problem.
You know that one of the six bikes was a Thruxton!
This means a 18" front wheel and a strong attitude for paved roads.
We wanted to show ourselves that the normal bike we use everyday to go to work or for a simple ride was good even for desert. All that with a reduced number of changes and with a very low budget.
So the answer is YES, the bikes were hard to drive on the sand.
But they worked!
