Hagons or Progressives?

(edit: I'm adding Ikons to the list here, too)
OK, I've pored over more shock posts than any human being should be expected to, and I still haven't found exactly the info I want for my specific situation.
I'm looking to improve the suspension on my '12 Mag Wheel - I'm tired already of the jarring slams up through the spine even over the smallest high-frequency bumps. I upped the pre-load after reading about that in another thread on here (even though it seemed very counter-intuitive!), and that really did help, but it's still far short of a cure.
I'm not looking for Valentino Rossi-level stuff here, and although most of my riding on this bike is through local canyons and mountain roads, I ride at a VERY moderate pace on it. In other words, this is my "slow down and enjoy the ride" bike, and I'm looking for comfort more than ultimate handling.
I'm 6' and about 175-180 lbs.
I'd already pretty much decided on Hagons from much of what I'd read here, and the recommendation of a fellow RAT, but a guy at my the dealer I just bought my bike from highly recommended Progressives instead. So (short of just saying f -it and going for Ohlins), I'm open to suggestions and opinions between the two...

(*I'd also like to add that I want to stay with something that looks like the stock unit: chrome with the upper cap, if possible.)

The strong survive, but the courageous Triumph.”

Made in Australia for your bike by people who know your bike who bought out the Koni motorcycle shock tools and technology several years ago. With an SE you need the shorter version but confirm that by e-mail first. VERY nice ride if you follow the directions on this page unless you are a very aggressive rider..., in which case, naturally go custom Ohlins.

I had to make that same decision 4 years ago and I went Hagons, though I'm not 100% sure anymore what the driving factor was. I think I decided on cost and the fact that I wanted black. If I remember correctly, there wasn't much difference between the Hagons and Progressives back then.

Papa, I have a set of each for a mag wheel Bonnie. I saw an improvement with the 412s like I used to run on a Harley. I ordered Ohlins only to be told after 3 weeks that they were still on "back order". BC told me the Hagon 2810s were as good as Ohlins for a lot less money. I put the stockers back on when I sold the bike. The Scrambler takes longer shocks. I had a couple of interested parties here but the Hagons have black springs and the Progressives have a couple of tiny scratches. Deal breakers on both.

Let me know if you are interested in either. $200 per set plus whatever actual shipping costs.

Olhogrider, if you still have the black Hagons after the holidays, I will totally take those off your hands for $200. Gotta wait until first of the year though, trying to keep the wife happy,
