Note that the VIN numbers the Factory refers to are just the last 6 figures, like this:

I see, so since my VIN is 51xxxx it is below the number where they switched to 2 pin flashers, that explains why mine is still the 3 pin model. Interesting.

The one I have is a 2 pin.
I need to find something considerably cheaper than $109 + shipping to the UK. It wiould makr my FEK's far too expensive and I do want to continue offering a plug'n'play item.

Can you post a link to the $109 unit you are referring to? I'm happy to help in the search and I'm curious to know what you're looking at.

This isn't as tidy as a pure swap for the existing relay, but looks like an easy enough unit to install.

If I understand it correctly, it will address the symptom of unequal flashers.

For those with the 2012+ models with 2-pin denso plug. The SM-3S apears to be the answer if you are looking for a self cancelling relay. I just ordered on and will post results

I have seen links to some aftermarket relays for as little as nine bucks, but I want to hunt down a plug and play direct replacement for the stock unit which works with LEDs. Since it was pointed out that this is a common motorcycle relay they must be out there. I have found nothing yet.

There are lots out there. You have to search for something like "Bonneville 2-pin LED flasher relay". These sort of results come out:

Here's an $8.95 exampole:

Here's exactly the same one but costing $19.95...!

That is the one. I am fighting my urge to have a perfect plug and play, but for now I ordered one to confirm it works and see if I can make a nice simple seat for the relay. There is not a lot of room under the side cover to fasten it down.
