I was at the Triumph-dealer in Newcastle, UK! I was asking when I should my new T100,he said, about June, then I said. How-many have you sold. His-reply was. Yours and one other. I seem to recall him saying, Edinburgh have put there name on 6--of the 110-limited for the UK!...............(will I ever see another!)  :)

I never really saw why the SMcQ bikes were so special. My local dealer (Three Cross, in Dorset) had a matt green, military script on tank, high arrow exhaust Scrambler in their showroom last year or the year before... Maybe THAT was a "special" one-off type bike, but it looked just like the SMcQ "special editions".

Lovely bike, but I'm not sure what all the fuss was for...

Wow, I didn't realise it came with a skid plate! I retract my cynical comments, as this more than explains the furore.

Ogri, yup, that's pretty much exactly what you said in your first post. Come on, keep up. :)

Don't worry! I'm here, and I brought my knife! Who needs a good poking?!?!?!

I don't mean to sound mean-spirited and it's a lovely bike and yes, it's a collector. Just the ad seemed not to work with that bike.

I would have to guess Barber Museum will probably buy one and stick it next to a green military style Triumph that Steve actually owned.

They also have a 50th anniversary Triumph and one that has something to do with the queen as well as at least 50 more on display.

The McQueen is Special

I purchased a McQueen and have no regrets...It is my first Triumph as I have been mostly a BMW airhead rider for over 40 years...In my early years I rode BSA's and Nortons...I do respect one's opinion on whatever bike they ride, like or dislike...after all we all have different tastes...However the McQueen looks "Old School" and at 60 years old I am "Old School"...So I say give Triumph some credit for making a bike with a nostalgic look and new technology like Fuel Injection and newer suspension...I do not expect it handle at high speed over 100 MPH as well as my Beemers but I did not purchase it to do so... I put Heindenau tires on the McQueen as well as the (over-priced) factory bags and (over-priced) center stand...the leather tail piece I have had for years and finally found where it belongs...The Pedestrian Slicer was a personal touch I thought would be appropriate as well...Young riders pick a destination and go Old riders pick a direction and go...All motorcycles can offer a "Great Escape" and Triumph has done that well in my opinion...My Best to all...Regards from...Hardermann

Triumph Steve McQueen T100 SE crappy mini review

Hi guys,

I own a SMQ Bonnie (no. 925) and I must confess that buying it was the cleverest idea I've had in years. Not the SMQ "thing" -even though the kaki color scheme and the WWII look are like magnet to all the others- but the T100 Bonnie itself as a motorcycle! I'm 192 cm tall (approx. 6' 4"), 108 kg and I've bought my bike after I saw a photo in a catalog in Germany. It was love at first site. At the beginning I was afraid that it will be a pain in the ass to ride and a constant source of leg cramps but I was wrong... Bonnie T100 turned out to be quite comfortable even if you're tall, but not taller than 195 cm. It's a wonderful ride, reliable, light as a feather despite its 250 plus kg, smooth, cool, gentle, easy to handle and very responsive and forgiving to unplanned and rather hasty maneuvers. The city is a natural environment for Bonnie and commuting on one is pure pleasure. The only downer could be considered the amount of wind that hits you directly in your chest on a highway at speeds above 110 km/h. It's a massive blow in your upper body easily comparable to a direct sledgehammer hit. At 130 km/h your blood is rushing through your body like crazy and while you wish you've thought for a Thruxton instead of a T100 you grab those handles so hard that your fingers go numb thinking that if you dare to raise your head as much as an inch you'll be thrown away from the saddle. At a butt freezing 150 km/h you're closer to God than in any other day of your life since your birth; you're dead without knowing it yet! It's the ultimate religious experience! It feels like you're crossing through a portal into a different dimension. The mirrors are shaking so hard that you can't see **** behind you; you lay your body on the gas tank so close that you look straight ahead through your eyebrows; the wind is so loud and terrifying that you're afraid to turn your head more than 5mm - not even for a split second; vibrations are pouring directly into your palms from all over the fork and you constantly feel that you're gonna loose the handlebar at one point... well, after reaching that crazy 150 km, slowing down to 130 km turns out to be quite a pleasant experience and you suddenly feel an urge to scream: "Yeaaaaah, rock'n roll baby!". Bottom line, in my opinion riding a Triumph Bonneville T100 (at moderate speeds) is the nicest experience for people who adore old school motorcycling and simplicity at its best.
Ride a Bonnie and you'll love it!

Safe ride to all of you!

RE: Mini Review

Well I guess I am lucky to be only 6 foot... I do agree though that at 85 mph the stability is not up to my old BMW airheads as they are very stable up to 120 mph which is around their top end.Perhaps a steering stabilizer will help, any feedback? ...Now with that being said I am indeed pleased as can be of the overall performance and handling in the twisties though I have not hit my pegs yet...perhaps the Heidenau tires are keeping me more on the Sane side...With the McQs attributes of nostalgia and new tech such as in the braking and EFI I can only smile as others look twice or three times as I glide by...Old school is fine for me and at 60 years young I too am Old School...so I say Congrats again to all who are riding the roads of the World...Enjoy the moments we all share...
Regards to all Hardermann

PS: Is the McQ starting to look to German?...hahaha!

One more thing I am installing the British/Custom pipe Silencers as soon as they arrive next week...Listen to the you tube video...the fun starts at the 6 minute 9 second mark...Vrooom!
Keep posting your pics too.
