The tyres are not made just for our Bonnies. The pressures stated in the manual are for the maximum laden weight our bikes are designed for. If those same tyres are fitted to a lighter or heavier bike they'll require different pressures.
A good example is a relatively light car like my Miata (Mazda MX-5), which only requires 26 psi, whereas the maximum pressure stated on the tyre sidewall is 51 psi...! the same tyres fitted to a heavier car will require more pressure.
Just follow the vehicle makers recommedations. If you feel that a little more pressure improves things, go up something like 10-20% but not up to maximum stated on side wall.
