What did you do to your twin today?

The Classic triple forum has a thread for daily modifications and shop work. Lets get that going for twins as well.

Today I lowered my T100's rear brake lever. I took the pin out, the master cylinder off and adjusted the bucket and locknut. Now I won't be beside my brake pedal on that bike, I can be above it, ready to use it just a tiny bit quicker.

I also painted the worst-off gas cap I had, black. So I can ride on sunny days without being blinded by my own bike. - my sun visor is in the helmet, and comes down from the top so I get nice glare off the clocks and tank... :(

Ordered a DNA Air Filter and a Jet Kit from Factory Pro. Getting all the parts together when the NH TOGAS arrive. Pull the snorkel, install the parts, and down to the Dyno I go to fine tune the little beast.

Tires and brakes...

Quick question...the package the brakes came on said to brake with caution for the first 250 miles...in town braking...to let the pads wear in...as it will take time for the pads form to the rotors...The pads I replaced were not metal on metal or grinding into the rotor...do I really need to be concerned...

I know there is a break in time for tires too...am I asking for trouble doing both at the same time?

You'll be alright doing both together. It's worth going a bit easy - mostly for the tires. Basically you want to scrub the surface off which has a lot of mold release compounds on it. They can be buggers in the wet when brand new.

200 to 250 miles is plenty.

The brake pads should be broken in slowly because you want them to mate with the rotors. Any irregularities in thickness or alignment with new pads will (may) damage rotors if the brakes are applied with a lot of force. I had experience with this on a pair of rotors on an auto.

I don't think you're going to get into any trouble doing both at the same time , but you might get a little bored for a few days. Just pretend you have a brand new bike - a little fantasy play for you.

Removed the rear passenger pegs and installed the Rear Peg Elimination Kit. I don't need them. My wife is getting older and is spoiled. She will only ride on the Goldwing. Cleans things up a bit and reduces a couple of pounds of weight too.

Checked bottom of engine/transmission, searching for any oil that might be leaking. Looks and feels squeaky clean, I think the output shaft seal I replaced a week ago is alright and I can stop checking everyday to make sure I did the job properly.

Put my arrow exhuast on! Running by the dealer tomorrow a.m to have them remap the fuel injection. This exhaust not only sounds great but has transformed the bike for me. With the stock exhaust my legs hurt after 20 miles being stuck out in the wind. The arrow allows me to keep my knees in and the lost of 10 pounds is nice too.

Had the 2:1 Arrow exhaust and led idiot lights installed on my Scrambler. The pipe is awesome, sounds great. Loud enough for me when you twist the throttle yet not annoying for neighbors when idle. Led lights bought from newBonneville.com work as expected, even in direct sunlight, its clear and easy to view. Lovin this bike!
