Hi Guys, this is my first time posting here.

I recently bent the gearchange shaft on my 2005 Bonneville. This is the shaft that the gear shifter connects to. My local dealer tells me that the part is "unavailable". What's that supposed to mean? My bike isn't even 3 years old and I can't get a part for it??? The dealer tells me that he has a long list of backordered parts and can't get Triumph to send him any of the parts on the list. Can this be true? Is there a huge problem with getting parts from Triumph?

I also own a 2005 Harley Davidson Dyna Lowrider. When I need a part for my Harley it usually takes no more than 3 days to get it. What the heck is up with Triumph??? All I can say is, I love my Bonneville but if getting parts for it is going to be a hassle I may have to sell it and never buy another Triumph again.

Do you think the dealer is telling me the truth, or is he just pissed that I'm doing the repairs myself? Because if the Triumph dealer network has a problem with me working on my own bike they're going to have to get over it because NOBODY TOUCHES MY BIKE BUT ME...

Anyone else have a problem getting parts for thier bike from the dealer?

Thanks.
