Glad to hear you're ok, but I would report the minor injuries to the Police, so that it is logged, and you can have a record of that log number, it can help re: insurance companies. I cannot condone feigning injuries being slightly worse than they truly are, but I am sure some people would....
I agree about the 'no injury, so it's a civil matter' attitude being poor, but I have to say in defence of the plod, that they can be more helpful than that if you get a good one. At the end of the day, isn't Plods' decision to prosecute for due care, or whatever. Ultimately the problem is with the Crown Prosecution Service, they can really cr@p on the Banquet of Justice.
Anywho, mend well, sue the b@stid, and stay lucky.
P.S. PNC = Police National Computer - in a nutshell, database of identities, and so proof of insurance, vehicle ownership and all that.
