I like my dealer, but I don't understand why I can make a service appointment several weeks in advance to have the cam cover gasket replaced under warranty, then when I bring the bike in, be told that he'll have to order the gasket and keep the bike for a week until the gasket comes in. The whole point of making the appointment was to give him time to get the gasket.

I don't get it. I understand that he has to pay for the part until the repair is made, but this is a cheap gasket for a known problem that will definitely be covered by the warranty. And it wouldn't hurt for him to keep one or two of them in stock anyway.
