Thumbs down

So I put a pair of Battlewings on, after using Tourances and getting 7ooo+miles from the rear tyre. Based on the results shown on this thread, I figured that even though the BW's were a tad dearer, they would give me more mileage, and so be worth while. I have to admit, they give a smoother ride than Tourances, and the grip is fine, no better, no worse.
But...
I've just replaced the rear Battlewing, after 58oo miles, with barely 2mm left on it.
Gutted.
I've put another 'Wing on to keep a matched pair, but it's back to Metzeler for me when i next need a pair. I need more than 58oo out of a back tyre.
