Agreed. ***** about the cost if you want, but don't blame the dealer for $$ they don't get (like taxes and tag fees). Now, if the dealer wants to add $2,000 of their own, a different story.
I paid list price and $500 or so for dealer setup, then got a discount on the accessories I ordered. Fair I think for a bike that is in short supply (there are plenty of heavily discounted bikes out there, but not ones I want).
Paid a bunch of tax too, but the state's responsible for that, not the dealer. About $9,500 by the time I was done.
This is going to get worse for people in the US. With the currency exchange rates the way they are, Triumph will have to make a choice:
(a) raise US prices considerably
(b) lose money on US sales
(c) stop bringing bikes to the US, since it seems they can sell all they want in Europe
