The GPS harness plugs into a receptacle on the wiring harness under the tank. The other end of the harness is a pair of bare wires. The harness comes with a set of bullet connectors for attaching the bare wires of the harness to the wires of the GPS power cord.
My Garmin had a power cord with a BMW style plug. Since I was installing the accessory outlet at the same time, and it is a BMW style outlet, I used that to connect the GPS. I then used the GPS wiring harness to power my Escort radar detector. Both seem to work just fine.
