I Use Ultimate Ear monitors with an Autocom. This is a nice way of blocking out road noise and having music in your ears. Because you are not trying to over power road noise you can have the volume quite low and still get a great sound. So it must be good for year ears.
I do find that the bass on mine is a bit rubbish. No where near as good as a set of standard ipod ear buds. But probably the best custom fit bike monitors you will find.
