For gas mileage, I think most of us are getting low to mid 30's. I seem to average 32 or 33 MPG. My gas light also comes on at 140 miles. I once pushed it to 200 miles on a tankful, but I think I was running on fumes. I wouldn't do that again. As for the rear tire, I got 7500 miles out of mine. I could have gone another 500, but didn't feel like taking the chance at the time so I just put on a new tire. I have about 10,000 miles on the bike now, and the front is still looking OK.
