Ride it till 7500 miles and register

I have some friends who moved to Republik of Kalifornia from Texas. Their car was Texas registered with less than 7500 miles. Ran into the Dumb*** Motor Vehicle dept "catch 22" like you did. They just drove the car with Texas registration for four years. By then, it was well over 7500 miles and they had no problem reregistering it in Kalifornia. Rx, don't break any vehicle laws, that is what initiated the Kalifornia reregistration.
