Thruxton +1, Harley 0
Just had to brag it up a bit about how much attention I got today with my bike. Oh, and I paid $5,000 less than the guy's bike I rode with AND I out-scooted him on every sweeper and twist.
Scenario: Cloudless Sunday with temps in the '60's and everyone and their mother is wringing out the cabin fever from their systems. I meet up with a guy with a brand-spanking new (<250 miles) Harley Fat Bob (a new model even) and we head out and around some mountain and farmland roads.
The go-down: The 1st stop we made had people gathered around the Thruxie and his red -n- gold pearled, chrome skull-emblasoned HD was totally ignored. I was loving it, and he, at first, thought it was just a chance occurence. After the 4th stop with exactly the same thing happening I heard a low-down, under-the-breath nervous chuckle that stems from being utterly flabbergasted. It was coming from the HD guy. He couldn't believe it. The thruxie is a charmer, that's for sure.
Of course, this made my day of riding even sweeter.
Long Live Brit Iron and the Brit Spirit. Everyone loves it!
