The V-Racks can look ok on the Sprint as well as most other sport / tourers....
I also suffer from crushed broccoli syndrome... the rack would help as much as wet weather gear - Good if you bothered to take it! In the case of the V-rack on the Street I feel it is so ugly I couldnt bring myself to leave it fitted to the bike.
Personally I think I will fit a tail bag instead, I know it isn't as big but I have always been told that it is not the size that counts.

www.kriega.com.au I bought the R25 and it is unbeleiveably good... I can add a US20 tail pack and still have paid less that for a V-rack and I will get way more use from them... Seeing how thanks go I could build it up with a US10 or two if I was planning some big trips. This would give me to more capacity than the Ventura. AND retain some style!
