I'm not sure what Harness type boots are, but I'd be willing to bet that, if your guy were sliding down the road with his leg under the bike, they wouldn't afford the protection of a dedicated riding boot. And sneakers are a joke. All it takes is one good crash, with a broken collarbone, in my case, to understand that you can get seriously hurt, even at low speeds without the right gear. I have the SIDI Vertigo boots, and they are very good riding boots. I've heard the Puma's are good too. And I have a good story about Motonation. My warranty had expired on a 2 year old pair of Vertebras, and I'd always had an issue with a fold (flaw) in the material under the big toe area. I couldn't ride in the boots any more, the pain was so bad from shifting. I contacted Motonation, and they said send them in and they would see what they could do. I expected that maybe they would repair them, but a few weeks later, I got a brand new pair of the new Vertigo boots in the mail. So I have no complaints with their customer service. LadyHawk, get your guy a good pair of boots. No one should skimp on good quality gear when riding sportbikes! Good Luck!
