The TT's/S4's arguably don't have the smoothest 1-2 shift, but it may work better with a slight preload (pressure) of the shift lever with your foot before you roll-off the throttle, pull the clutch, & make the move.

Questions:
  1. How many miles on the bike?
  2. How many miles since the last oil change?
  3. What is the engagement point of your clutch lever (how far do you have to pull back the clutch lever before the clutch is fully disengaged?
  4. Has this situation worsened over time?
