Yikes-your significant other wears sneakers when riding?
Thought the harness style boot will offer better protection than a sneaker, I'm not sure these kind of boots provide the protection recommended for sport riding/touring.
I wear Alpinestars SMX-R and highly recommend them. I've done some 8 hour riding days and they're plenty comfortable. I wouldn't want to walk very far in them though.
Let us know what you end up going with.
